Colette  Cohen OBE

Colette Cohen OBE

Chief Executive Officer

Colette Cohen is the Chief Executive Officer for OGTC and has worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 25 years. Colette successfully launched OGTC in 2017 and has established it as the ‘go to’ technology centre for the industry. Since starting her career offshore with BP in 1991, Colette has worked for ConocoPhillips in the North Sea, Norway, the US and Kazakhstan, where she received a Jubilee Medal from the Kazakh Prime Minister in recognition of her contribution to the country’s oil and gas industry.  Prior to joining OGTC, she was Senior Vice President for Centrica Energy’s Exploration and Production business in the UK and The Netherlands.  

Colette has previously served on the board of Oil & Gas UK and the OGA Decommissioning Board. She is now the Chair of the National College for Onshore Oil and Gas, sits on the Technology Leadership Board and is a Non-Executive Director for both OPITO and NORECO. She is also a Commissioner for the Just Transition Commission for Scotland, an active champion for the industrial transition of the oil and gas industry to a net zero future and a committed role model for women in industry. 

Colette is a chemistry graduate from Queens University Belfast, has a Masters in Project Management and Economics from Ceram University, an honorary doctorate from the University of Aberdeen, is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Institute of Directors and a Trustee of Springer Rescue for Scotland.  

Myrtle  Dawes

Myrtle Dawes

Solution Centre Director

Myrtle is a Chartered Chemical Engineer, with extensive experience in the energy sector. Myrtle has taken on an array of roles, from being an offshore engineer working for BP, designing offshore and onshore infrastructure in the UK and overseas, to driving digital transformation, and now leading the development of technology for net zero in the energy sector.

She was elected to the Institution of Chemical Engineer’s Board in 2015 to 2018, and is currently a member of the Board of Governors at University of Lincoln.

In 2017, Myrtle received recognition for her contribution to business, having featured in Breaking the Glass Ceiling and being selected as one of 100 Women to Watch in the Cranfield FTSE Board Report 2017.

In her spare time Myrtle studies mathematics, is a keen cat lover, and gamer.

Nicola  McIntosh

Nicola McIntosh

Finance and Commercial Director

As Finance and Commercial Director, Nicola brings strong leadership and drive to deliver high quality and transparent management reporting at OGTC. With a strong background in performance management, Nicola has over 20 years’ experience working in finance and commercial roles, including Maersk Oil where she held a range of senior management positions including Chief of Staff for the COO. She is also passionate about corporate responsibility, supporting a range of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) engagement with schools, alongside diversity in the work place initiatives through the Powerful Women network.

Outside work, Nicola is a keen swimmer and is aiming for an impressive 13,000 lengths this year.   She is married and has two teenage children and two mad dogs.   She also loves her champagne and nice food!

Stephen  Sheal

External Relationship Director

Stephen is focused on building strong relationships with the Centre’s strategic partners, members and non-member stakeholder communities. Prior to joining OGTC, Stephen held senior business development and marketing positions within the oil and gas sector and latterly, was a Director with an oil and gas focused international executive search firm. He has experience in advising a wide range of global companies and organisations including oil and gas operators, international service companies, private equity businesses in various industrial sectors, higher education institutions and economic development.

Outside work, Stephen loves reading and travelling (ideally together). He is married with two hockey mad teenage daughters. He watches a lot of hockey!

Luca  Corradi

Luca Corradi

Innovation Network Director

Luca works to bring “the outside in”, connecting innovators and academics across sectors and disciplines, to explore the latest technologies that could be adopted to address oil and gas industry challenges. Leading OGTC’s horizon scanning activity, he identifies emerging technology trends, cutting through the hype to identify potential areas of impact and application. With a background in business and organisational change leadership, Luca has developed a strong network and is passionate about harnessing this to deliver the next generation of the net zero energy industry.

Outside work Luca loves reading, music and travel. He is married with two young daughters and a dog. He enjoys the rare motorbike ride in Scotland and even rarer ski trip on the Alps.

David Millar

Technology Accelerator Director

As Technology Accelerator Director, David works with entrepreneurs, SMEs, academia and the oil and gas industry to stimulate and accelerate new technology innovation. David brings over 15 years' experience across start-ups, operators and service companies such as ABB, Shell, BP, ENI and Wood, developing and delivering organisational learning, improvement and technology innovation programmes with great success. Driven by his passion to make a difference for the industry and the North-East, his leadership of the TechX programme is bringing an award winning and world class support offering to start-ups looking to break into the UK energy sector. David joined us in 2017 from Wood where he held several senior operational contract roles, was awarded their Global Innovation Core Value Award in 2016 and set up and the company's global 'Innovation for Growth function' which pioneered their digital focused eWorking programme. 

Outside of work David spends quality time with his family and two dogs as well as enjoying gardening, golf and working out to keep the ‘Dad bod’ at bay.

Rebecca Allison

Head of Emissions Reduction

Rebecca is passionate about delivering innovation to support emissions reduction in a maturing North Sea basin. This includes identifying and appraising existing technology readiness and accessibility to the marketplace, while championing the latest advancements in field development, operations, late life and decommissioning in the transition to a net zero future. A highly driven and motivated senior manager with more than 20 years' experience in the energy sector, Rebecca harnesses her strong strategic planning and communications skills to manage complex projects.

Outside work Rebecca spends most of her time at the Ellon Scout Hut, coaching and mentoring over 80 young people in developing their outdoor skills. If she’s not camping in all weathers then she enjoys time with her two children, her patient husband and a very mad black Labrador.

Head of Offshore Energy 4.0

As Head of Offshore Energy 4.0, Stephen is focused on identifying, developing and deploying advanced and integrated digital solutions that can support the oil and gas industry's transition to net zero. With a technology management and geo-science background, Stephen has over 30 years of worldwide industry experience having held various operational and leadership positions with both operators and service companies.

Outside work Stephen does a bit of gaming, watches a lot of rugby, and also enjoys walking, gardening and being outdoors. He is married with three grown up children.

Martyn Tulloch

Head of Energy System Integration

A chartered engineer who has worked in both the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors over the last 20 years, Martyn has the privilege of leading a team that is passionate about ensuring that the oil and gas industry helps enable the transition to a low carbon future. He believes firmly that the skills, experience and infrastructure established over the last four decades in NE Scotland and the wider UK oil and gas industry will have a pivotal role to play if we are to meet our net zero targets. The Energy System Integration team covers three industrial sectors that offer huge growth potential – offshore renewables, hydrogen and CCUS.

Away from work Martyn enjoys coaching his two primary school age sons’ football and rugby teams, reading, running and spending time with friends and family.

Roger  Esson

Head of Industry & Member Network

As Head of Industry & Member Network, Roger spearheads our solution centre connection to members, technology developers, supply chain and stakeholders. Roger has more than 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector, having has held a variety of supply chain leadership positions within companies ranging from SMEs to tier 1 contractors. Before joining OGTC, he was Chief Executive of industry trade organisation, Decom North Sea. 


Roger is an active member of the GlobalScot community and is a Chartered Surveyor, as well as a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. 

Vinay Mulgundmath

Vinay Mulgundmath

Chief Technologist

Vinay is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with 15+ years of experience in providing benchmarked global solutions tailored for local environments across the low carbon energy generation sector. Prior to joining OGTC, Vinay led the Business Development team for the low carbon power generation sector at Doosan Babcock (UK) and served as a Research Scientist in Heavy Oil & Oilsands division at Alberta Research Council, Canada.

As Chief Technologist and Head of Research, Vinay is focused on nurturing the next generation of net zero technologies by leveraging fundamental research expertise provided by higher educational institutions and maximising collaborative research with industry, thereby positioning OGTC as a lead research and technology organisation for delivering UK's 2050 targets.

Vinay has previously served as a Board member of Scottish Energy Advisory group (SEAB), chaired by the First Minister. He is a Non-Executive Advisor to Energy Technology Partnership (ETP), the largest power and energy research partnership between academia, government and industry in Europe. Vinay is also an Advisory Board member at Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage (SCCS), the largest CCS research group in the UK.

Vinay holds a PhD degree in post-combustion carbon capture technologies from the University of Ottawa, Canada, a MSc degree in Process Engineering (in French) from ENSGTI, France, a BEng degree in Chemical engineering from Bangalore University, India and has published eight journal papers.

Gillian  White

Gillian White

Head of Technology Advisory

Gillian leads the Technology Advisory Team to give expert advice and project support across the Emissions Reduction, Energy System Integration and Offshore Energy 4.0 programmes, as well as running OGTC’s portfolio management office. In this varied role, Gillian builds flexible teams for cross programme initiatives and applications for new funding streams. As an Earth Scientist she is curious to use UKCS knowledge, data and infrastructure to enable the transition to net zero.

With over 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector in subsurface technical and leadership positions across the asset lifecycle, Gillian has a deep expertise of the petroleum geology of the UK, Danish and Norwegian offshore sectors. She also has an MSc and a PhD in geoscience. Gillian joined OGTC in 2018 as Manager of the Subsurface Solution Centre, taking it from launch in February 2019 to build a portfolio of subsurface technology and research projects. She sees a great opportunity in integrating expertise across-disciplines and sectors and is passionate about applying oil and gas science and engineering for a decarbonised future.

In her spare time Gillian likes the outdoors, running and hill walking. She is a mum with three daughters.
